Pre-ordering

    We receive your inquiry, requirements and attachments via our translation inquiry form.
  • Discussion - email/phone/meeting
    We'll discuss your needs. A JAPANtranslation rep will be assigned to serve you.
  • Issuing a quotation - email/phone/post
    We'll itemize the budget, target the delivery deadline, plan the translation process and provide you with an estimate.
  • Client consideration - (client side)
    Please feel free to contact your JAPANtranslation rep with any concerns or issues regarding the estimate.
  • Placing the order - email/fax
    You have the option of placing your order by email or fax.

The translation process

  • In-house consultation - (JAPANtranslation, in-house)
    Our linguistic team, led by your JAPANtranslation rep, will review the process and materials. They'll select the most appropriate translator(s) and reviewers for your industry and document type, make a final, detailed check of the schedule and the glossary of words (if your company provides one). Schedule is finalized.
  • Original document checking - (JAPANtranslation, in-house)
    The project manager will check the source document for readability, ambiguous expressions, etc.
  • Preparatory work - (JAPANtranslation, in-house)
    The team fine-tunes the glossary, translation memory and style guide.
  • Test translation - email/phone/meeting
    We can produce a sample translation and review it with you.
  • Initial translation - (JAPANtranslation, in-house)
    The translation is done by a carefully selected native in the target language.
  • Translation check - (JAPANtranslation, in-house)
    The project manager reviews for oversights or errors.
  • Correction - (JAPANtranslation, in-house)
    Final quality assurance checks by linguistic staff, editors. Layout engineers make notes.
  • DTP/HTML coding - (JAPANtranslation, in-house)
    Selection of fonts, encoding, etc.
  • Post-job operations - (JAPANtranslation, in-house)
    The team keeps notes on translation specifications and updates the glossary for future use.
  • Delivery - via appropriate medium

Post-delivery

  • Receipt and inspection - (client side)
    Your review.
  • Client satisfaction survey - email/phone/meeting
    In this final stage your JAPANtranslation rep will ask for your feedback. Feel free to give us raves which we can pass on to future prospective clients!
